About UxDT

The User Experience Design & Technology Division (UxDT) of NIC was formed to spearhead the user-centered front-end design engineering and development process for enhancing the usability quotient of various applications and web portals offered by NIC to various stakeholders. This involves study, research, design, development and testing of usability aspects such as User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX), Usability Standards and Best Practices. Recently, the augmentation of UI/ UX of ICT Applications and Web Portals of various entities of the government has become one of the prime requirements, as these help enhance the way information and services are provided to the citizens.

The Division strives to work on the following areas:

Design & Technology

User Interface, User Experience of Websites, Portals, Software Application, Digital Dashboards, Apps, Information Visualisation, Usability Testing, Accessibility, Prototyping & Design Rendering, Exploration of Design Technology Tools, Responsive Web, Web Components, Digital Communication Design etc.

Technical Content Design

Research, Analysis and Content Development related to Web Technology, Methodologies, Standards, UI/ UX Tools and Testing, Web Apps, Information Visualisation etc.

This enhances NIC’s visual identity and also improves the User Experience of the e-Gov Web and Applications taken up by NIC. The Division has been actively involved in promoting standardization, organizing capacity building programmes and providing academic internships/ trainings.
