Established in 2008, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar is one of the eight IITs initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Initially operating from a temporary campus at Vishwakarma Government Engineering College, Chandkheda, and mentored by IIT Bombay, the institute admitted its first batch of students in 2008. The initial programs included Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. IIT Gandhinagar has since grown, with a commitment to excellence in education and research, contributing significantly to the technological landscape of India.
